Space Maintainers in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
When a child loses a baby tooth too early, the neighbors start closing the gap, and the adult tooth loses its parking spot. A space maintainer from our Greenpoint office holds the door open.
A space maintainer is a simple fixed or removable device that keeps the gap from an early-lost baby tooth at full width until the permanent tooth erupts. Without it, drifting neighbors create crowding and impaction, problems that later mean braces, extractions, or both. It is one of dentistry's best trades: a small device now against years of orthodontics later.
